ANN ARBOR, MI — It’s been three and a half years since a fire significantly damaged John Williams’ house above his beloved underground music venue in Ann Arbor.
After a series of benefit concerts, community fundraising with “Save the Speakeasy” yard signs around town, an insurance payout dispute with AAA that played out in court for over two years and public protests against the insurer, Johnny’s Speakeasy is finally rebuilding.
