Join Us for a Virtual Benefit Concert to Save Johnny’s Speakeasy – Six Hours of Live Music and Community Support
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, music fans from around the world are invited to join a special virtual benefit concert to support Johnny’s Speakeasy, a beloved venue that was devastated by a house fire in September 2022. The concert will stream live from 2:00 PM Eastern Time on the Save the Speakeasy Facebook page and YouTube channel. If you’re in the Ann Arbor area, we’ll be checking in on Johnny and friends who will be taking over the Old Town Tavern, 122 W. Liberty, Ann Arbor, MI. (Public Welcome!)This star-studded event will feature mini-sets from a wide range of artists across the country who are donating their performance to help raise awareness and much needed funds to aid in the rebuild of Johnny’s home and the Speakeasy.

The concert will showcase performances from a host of talented musicians, including: Whit & Al Hill (Nashville, TN), Wild Ponies (Nashville, TN), Dana Cooper (Nashville, TN), Lindsay Tomasic (Los Angeles, CA), Michael McNevin (San Francisco Bay Area, CA), Cosy Sheridan (Boston, MA), Chuck Brodsky (Asheville, NC), Julianne Ankley (Port Huron, MI), Jeff Plankenhorn (Campbell River, BC), Jeff Burke (Nashville, TN)
In addition, several guest appearances will enhance the show throughout the day, along with performances from local artists, including: Judy Banker, Dave Boutette & Kristi Davis, Chris Buhalis, Annie & Rod Capps, Lauren Crane, Shari Kane & Dave Steele, Billy King & Emily Slomovits, Dave Menefee, Mike Ward, and Johnny himself!
This benefit concert is the latest initiative in the ongoing Save the Speakeasy campaign, which was launched in response to the fire that destroyed the venue and has since been compounded by a prolonged legal battle with AAA insurance. Despite a number of successful benefit concerts, the need for support continues, and this virtual event aims to bring the community together for one afternoon of music and solidarity.
Johnny’s Speakeasy has been a cherished hub for local music lovers and artists alike, and this event will help ensure the future of the venue and provide much-needed financial support to Johnny as he continues to rebuild his home.
